About the Performance:

The leading role is performed by Rachel Auriol.

Ancient India. The ageing King Dasaratha decides to pass the throne to his eldest son, Rama, who is respected and admired by all. However, the king's third wife, Kaikeyi, dreams of seeing her own son, Bharata, become the ruler. Thus begins a struggle for power within the royal palace, revealing profound conflicts between duty and personal ambition, loyalty and the desire for power.

Based on the first part of the great Indian epic «Ramayana», the performance explores the nature of power and moral responsibility. Featuring a single actress-storyteller and ten puppets, the production revives the traditions of Indian oral storytelling, inviting audiences into a fascinating world filled with poetry and deep emotions. While remaining faithful to the original storyline, the adaptation places particular emphasis on Kaikeyi's inner world and the decisions that shape her destiny.
