Tolkyn Orynbaykyzy Tleuliyeva is a prominent representative of Kazakh puppet theatre, an example of dedication, hard work, talent, and perseverance.
She was born on March 18, 1978, in the sacred land of the Karmakshy district of the Kyzylorda region, a place where the legacy of poets and zhyrau has been preserved. Her love for the stage, which was born in childhood, led her to the sacred temple of art, and in 1997–2001 she studied at the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, specializing as a “puppet theatre actor.” Choosing the path of high art, since 2005 she has been working diligently at the State Academic Puppet Theatre.
For her many years of fruitful work and significant contribution to the cultural sphere, she was awarded the honorary title “Excellent Worker of Culture” by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the “Dara” badge of the Union of Theatre Workers of Kazakhstan.
Tolkyn Orynbaykyzy is a master capable of deeply feeling and conveying a wide range of characters. Her roles remain in the memory of audiences for a long time. Her performances in productions such as “Naughty Calf,” “The Crow and the Robber,” “The Three Little Pigs,” “Morozko,” “Atameken,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Aladdin’s Magic Lamp,” “The Adventures of Buratino,” “Thumbelina,” “The Wandering Old Man,” “A Mother for Baby Mammoth,” “Forest Magic,” and many others demonstrate her rare talent for bringing puppets to life, endowing them with voice, character, and destiny.
In addition, the productions “Mother’s Heart” and “Motherland is Mother’s Field,” in which she participated, received high praise from international audiences and theatre critics at puppet theatre festivals held in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, becoming award winners. The maternal characters she created on stage became audience favorites and turned into deeply moving works that touch the most delicate strings of the human soul. Every stage movement and even every pause became a symbol of maternal love and boundless tenderness, making the audience reflect and feel deeply.
