The concert-performance “Think of Me…” in the repertoire of the State Academic Puppet Theatre is a profound and emotionally impactful work dedicated to the творчество of the poet Mukagali Makataev. In this production, the poet’s heartfelt and lyrical verses are combined with stage action, music, and the art of puppetry to form a unified artistic image. As a result, the audience does not simply listen to poetry, but experiences and interprets it on a deeper level.

The content of the performance is entirely based on poetry. Each line of the poems is connected with the action on stage, conveying specific thoughts and emotions. Here, poetry is not just text, but the central core of the entire performance. Through the poet’s works, the audience gains a deeper understanding of themes such as life, love, and longing. Every viewer finds something personally meaningful and receives a spiritual impression.

Director Maral Taukelova skillfully uses various possibilities of puppet theatre. Different types of puppets—rod puppets, marionettes, tabletop, and shadow puppets—are used simultaneously on stage, creating a unique visual effect. This approach not only makes the performance engaging but also demonstrates the richness and evolution of theatrical art.

The work of puppet theatre actors requires exceptional skill. They convey emotions indirectly through puppets, which makes voice, intonation, and movement especially important. In “Think of Me…”, the actors successfully combine all these elements, presenting a sincere and expressive performance. The movement of the puppets and the musical accompaniment enhance the overall impact.

Another distinctive feature of the performance is the integration of poetry and music. The poet’s verses are intertwined with familiar songs, creating a special atmosphere on stage. This deeply influences the audience’s emotional perception and allows for a more profound experience. In this way, poetry becomes not only something heard, but something truly felt.

Choreographic elements also play an important role. Through movement and dance, the meaning of the poems is раскрывается more clearly, making it easier for the audience to understand. The synthesis of poetry, music, and movement creates a unified artistic space and immerses the viewer in the performance.

The performance is intended for teenagers aged 12 and older, as well as adults, but it resonates with audiences of all ages. As noted by theatre actor Shokhan Kulnazarov, puppet theatre awakens a childlike sense of perception and renews one’s interest in life. In this sense, the production serves not only as a work of art but also as a source of spiritual enrichment.

Through the symbolic movements of the puppets, emotions such as sadness, joy, and love—embedded in the poet’s works—are clearly conveyed to the audience. This technique makes even complex poetry more accessible and thought-provoking, highlighting the unique expressive power of puppet theatre.

An important aspect of the performance is its educational value. It encourages the audience to rediscover Kazakh poetry and appreciate national cultural values. After the performance, the phrase “Think of Me…” lingers in the viewer’s mind, leaving a personal impression on each individual.

In conclusion, “Think of Me…” is a significant work that demonstrates the harmonious fusion of poetry and theatre. It not only provides aesthetic enjoyment but also inspires deep reflection. Such productions contribute to the development of national art and elevate it to a new level.
