About the Performance:
Based on the short story «The Dog» by renowned Georgian humanist writer Nodar Dumbadze, the performance explores the timeless themes of loyalty, kindness, compassion, and human values. Through the story of a dog and its relationship with people, the production reflects on the meaning of friendship, trust, and unconditional devotion. The performance combines puppetry with live-action theater, creating a distinctive theatrical language in which actors and puppets exist together on stage. The synthesis of live performance and puppetry allows the story to be told through both physical expression and visual imagery. The production brings together professional actors of the Ozurgeti State Drama Theater and students of the theater’s studio, creating an intergenerational artistic collaboration. With its emotional storytelling, visual theater elements, and universal themes, The Dog offers an engaging experience for both younger and adult audiences.
